about

The last album in the TX series is mostly about found sound, remixes and ambience...Some new, mostly old. Exit Strategies is from 2002, and Crash Out is an ambient mashup of 3 pieces I had hanging around from 2001 and 2003 and is about both the Great Dotcom Crash of 2000-2001 but also the Electroclash crash a few years later. You can find some of the original component tracks in the bonus files if you download the full album.

Exit Strategies is some sort of strange proto dubstep, it dates from 2003, at the time I was like WTF? but listening now it seems rather ahead of it's time...

TIXE EXIT is where I was experimenting with CD scratches - I used to scratch CDs on purpose, or record ones I found as my old portable CD player created interesting random loops from them.

Interspersed across the album is my old modul-8 radio (mod.radio) jingles I did for the rudimentary Real Audio stream I had in 1999 showcasing acts on the modul8 webring. These come from a lot of what I call 'Scan Jams' - hours of scanner and SW recordings, sometimes raw, sometimes with live additions like you've heard on these releases. I even have numbers stations recorded in the 90's well before LOST and all that - so CONET try and sue me, I was there first :-P

The bonus tracks as well as the ones mentioned before are also an early version of the Glasspace excerpts, and 'Cheesecake..' is a tracker experiment from 2002-3 I think.
